The Worldwide ERC® Foundation for Workforce Mobility recently announced that Pam O’Connor, SCRP, Leading Real Estate Companies of the World®, is honored with the H. Cris Collie Leadership Award.
The award, presented to O’Connor on 6 October during the Worldwide ERC® Global Workforce Symposium in Washington, D.C., is named for former Worldwide ERC® CEO Cris Collie, in recognition and appreciation of his personal and professional impact on the workforce mobility industry. In conferring the award on O’Connor, Foundation Chair Janet Schaefer, SCRP, GMS, Altair Global said, “She has been mentor, motivator, leader and cheerleader to many, and gives each one of us the gift of her friendship and focus, so that we feel like the only person in the room when she’s speaking with us. She is that person who prompts the use of words like ‘integrity’ and ‘intelligence’ and ‘grace;’ and throughout her career, has developed a reputation for her quiet competence, her expertise, her calm under pressure, and her vision.”
O’Connor, accepting the award, referenced the book, “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten,” and said that in her case, “Worldwide ERC® was my ‘career kindergarten.’ In fact, the reason I was offered my job as CEO was in large part due to recommendations of relocation directors who knew me through ERC®. Relationships really do matter; they are the very fabric of work and life. We all are expected to do a good job – that’s what we’re paid for. It is when we make others’ lives better that we earn true loyalty. Those of you who will be influencing this mobility industry going forward will play a huge role in the lives of those you serve and of those you serve with in Worldwide ERC®. Take care of those relationships, because if you’re as lucky as I am, they will take care of you for years to come. Thank you all so, so much, not just for this very special honor, but for the learning, the laughter and the love that have shaped my life experience at Worldwide ERC®.”
